Why do I need to select a date when just asking a question?

You have to choose a date range to be able to contact one of the hosts. This is just a help for the hosts to keep track of all incoming inquiries. The schedule you choose when contacting shall give the host just a first idea about when you’re planning to come. But you may of course still ask the host to change these dates before finishing your booking.
